MARCH EVENT INFO POST: A SOUND OF THUNDER
man, it’s sure been a wild couple of months, huh? Fio has been having weird dreams. a mirror ate Bash. Crabb touched some stuff. Ava and Pratt fed Ebalon’s corpse to a ghost. wild stuff.
anyway, entirely unrelated, there’s suddenly giant holes in reality everywhere?
that’s normal. that’s probably fine. it’s friendly.
WELCOME TO MEMSHARE EVENT BUT BUILT DIFFERENT! throughout the month of March, large cracks will begin to form around the Serena Eterna: on walls, on floors, in the air, under water, anywhere and everywhere. these cracks are completely benign until touched; anyone who touches one will find themselves pulled inside, along with anyone standing too close to them.
inside, they will find themselves in the middle of a fellow passenger’s memory - physically. they will be able to interact with the world of the memory, and those inside it will react to them and their actions. what they do in the memory will have a lasting impact: namely, if you die in the memory, you die in real life, and the new memory formed by their actions will join the existing memory inside the memory-owner’s, well, memory.
super confusing and weird, right? let’s try to explain this through an example.
a crack forms, containing Jack’s memory of the day he and Jill went up the hill. the crack, at separate times, is touched by Tom, alone, and Dick and Harry, together. while in the memory, Tom saves Jack when he falls down in the hill; meanwhile, Dick and Harry are killed when Tom and Jill collide with them, killing them both. Tom leaves the memory unscathed, while Dick and Harry revive in their cabins, thankful that they seem to have been spared the Dumb Death Tax.
from that point on, until otherwise noted, Jack will have three separate memories of the same event: falling down and breaking his crown, being saved by Tom, and dying. despite the fact that these three memories are very much mutually exclusive, and the fact that Jack also has memories of his life after apparently dying, he will be unable to discern which memory is the true one on his own. they will all feel equally real to him.
(note: this isn’t permanent! probably. you have a chance to fix it! a chance.)
please feel free to use this post for plotting purposes. memories can be shared as many times as you feel you can handle; how they are shared (threading out the interaction, handwaving and just writing the memory and the reaction separately, etc) is entirely up to you.
oh, and one more thing.
there will also be npc memories available. these memories will be much less interactive than passenger ones, but will contain Delicious Lore. sign-up thread below, closes on March 1st. memories will be allocated randomly to no more than one or two characters each.

CC - Dolce & Nobunaga Oda
At least Rune Factory 4 isn't super extreme, but Dolce is all HAUNTED MANSION and ghosts and End of the World stuff because I play hard I guess.
Dolce / Rune Factory 4 soft spoilers
Meeting Ghosts: As an actual infant, Dolce could see and interact with ghosts, and latched onto Pico (a permanently six-year-old seeming poltergeist). Her parents just accepted this, having actually experienced it Dolce's whole life, and set an extra plate at dinner for Pico and treated her as Dolce's add-along twin rather than an imaginary friend. As such, when Dolce started meeting other ghosts, she couldn't tell the difference between the living and the dead. Seriously.
Sewing/Knitting/Crochet/etc. She became a hobbyist seamstress and clothing designer to lean into the whole elegant gothic lolita fashion and made clothes for her plushies, and did puppet shows to entertain Pico. She's insanely shy (even worse the younger she is) so she almost used it as a talking point, wear things she likes (bats!) and lean into it all the way.
Meeting Ventuswill: Her BFF (other than Pico who is more like a sibling) is a dragon goddess. Come see the palace, it randomly has a farm in the backyard (as you do), and Dolce trying to get Ventuswill to drink medicine instead of pancakes -- which is what Venti demands. See also Dolce trying to learn to cook pancakes and being very very bad at it. She's better with steamed dishes.
Becoming a dragon guardian: SOFT Spoilers: A huge portion of the discussion between Dolce and the Earthmates is laid out in canon. Becoming a guardian means that Venuswill's life is extended and she doesn't have to reincarnate and forget her life. The entire country depends on Venti's runeys that get restored via her existence. However going to sleep for indefinite centuries meant Dolce's own parents and everything else she knew in her time would die and fade, and she had no idea what the world would be like when she woke. Consolation: Venti and Pico would still be there. It was extremely rough on Pico who was awake for 400 years btw.
- NONSpoilers, just FLAVOR: Dolce acts as a costume designer for the stage theater, not realizing (and/or caring?) half of them are ghosts. Also does marionette shows.
Tour Obsidian Mansion with all its CREEPY AF classic goth aesthetics, take in a dinner show (the actors are DEAD :V) maybe a romantic violin performance (the violinist is a ghost) but be very very very careful not to get hit by plushie boobie traps!
Possessed by Marionetta: CW: possession duh. Marionetta is a boss monster that does magic shows (classic IRL illusion style even though the entire world takes magic for granted! That's what funny) and is an annoying pest. Dolce held out really hard, but when the orbs started replacing the other guardians, she got taken over, much to Pico's (understandable) consternation. As a monster, Dolce will not understand a SINGLE thing anyone says/does, and not be in control of herself (ofc) she will be 100% attack/defend/prank.
Bonus: if you snap her out of it with/or instead of the Earthmate MC (Lest/Frey) you can get naked manga Dolce idk. I play ridiculous canons thanks.
Up until possession, Dolce has normal rounded ears. They become pointy almost elf-like after that. She is not an elf, however. There are others in town (Margaret!) who are.
Life in Selphia: Pico drags Dolce to Venti, and Venti erases Dolce's guardian memories (TEMPORARILY -- they get restored) -> New town, 400 years later, what do? Nancy instantly adopts Dolce and Pico, I mean instantly. Meet Nancy the nurse, Dr. Jones the Doctor, whom Dolce becomes very quickly attached to, and works as a pharmacist/alchemist for. The town all seems very very idyllic. Although Dolce is crazy shy still, and Pico generally purposely creates mischief so that Dolce has to run after her and talk to people.
Ethelberd and the Floating Empire: Spoilers for Chapter 2 of RF
The lunatic Ethelberd wants to take over the world, become a God, and has gone on a genocide of Earthmates for stopping him previously, and tries to take all the rune spheres that allowed Dolce and the other guardians to come back to the waking world. Experience AIRSHIP and Floating Empire which is like a metal floating doomsday ship with golems and sechs dragons and giant fucking spiders of doom.

Nobunaga Oda / Ikemen Sengoku + IRL history || WALKING CW
Kipposhi childhood: CW: child soldier, castes, monks, child abuse.
- Learning swords from the time he could literally walk. Also learning knives, staves, axes, all weapons of war, and even some battle tactics.
- ALSO falconry.
- Child abuse from the monks, including strict teachings about the castes and Nobunaga forever rebelling against it.
- Not personally starving, but keenly aware of others who did, and trying to find ways to make it better for them.
- He literally rode horseback before he could walk.
- Bonus: his name is Kipposhi/Kichihoshi and he literally won't know who Nobuanga is.
- Double Bonus: Kipposhi is obsessed with oni stories and sides with the demons every time :|a
- Triple Bonus: BUGS? BUGS! He's a feral child.
First war/ambush: CW: he was 6 years old
- Ambushed by enemies, his father's whole army (500, very very tiny for a daimyo, but they were literally the smallest/poorest province) was surrounded and attacked. Nobunaga didn't personally kill anyone or do actual fighting, he just had to guide his father's horse and stay out of trouble. Witness 1/10th of why Nobunaga is as fucked up as he is? Try to change the outcome? Argue with babby Oda why violence is bad????
First God: CW: religion
- Before Nobunaga was mad at god(s), Nobunaga actually used to play with the local mountain god. For real. They were close friends.
First assassination attempt + first killing: CW: literal assassination attempt + his first killing = MASSIVE PTSD for life. He thwarted it, but it really fucked him up permanently. He's 8 here. He killed on instinct and couldn't hold back, so I'm going to do this prompt (if anyone at all wants it idk) from when he's asking WHY and who, but the ninja/servant is dying on his blade anyway.
Nobuhide's death / funeral / aftermath: CW: Murder, war, child abuse, suicide, religion (not Nobunaga's) -- just brutal to the max
- Nobunaga was infamously wild at this point. He was furious with everyone and everything. His father for dying before uniting Owari (the province) or even the Oda family (see also: war with his Uncle and brother) the rest of Nobunaga's family for fighting, for not believing in Nobunaga or his dream, for wanting to keep the status quo instead of upend it like him, the god friend of his childhood for not coming to help him (the night before the funeral he cried and cried and begged him to come help him, but the god can't leave the mountain, so had to hope for Nobunaga to go to the mountain -- he didn't) and so he infamously threw the incense at his father's ashes, creating a wild scene at the funeral and a huge scandal. It was the most disrespectful thing anyone couldn't think of.
- Masahide: Nobunaga's tutor committed seppuku to shame/shock sense into Nobunaga. Did it work? Who knows.
- Aftermath: SO. Much. War. War with Nobunaga's Uncle. 1/2 of Nobuhide's samurai joined Nobunaga, but a lot of them didn't like the radical nature of Nobunaga, or his insolence (see also: Demon King of 6th Heaven)
- He finds out his favorite/closest brother: Nobuyuki was responsible for the assassination attempts (hiring/extorting others) through his childhood.
- Gozen (their mother) begs Nobunaga to spare Nobuyuki, and he DOES.
- So Nobuyuki does it all AGAIN, allying with their Uncle, and a few cousins.
- Said Uncle also kills a few of Nobunaga's brothers by the riverside when they're not even at war, by way of DECLARING war.
- Eventually Nobunaga corners Nobuyuki AGAIN and forces him to commit seppuku, and then promptly exiles his mother to a religious retreat, promising only to "Free her" when he finishes uniting all of Japan and ending all the infinite wars, and then he'll be free to sail away from Japan.
- Bonus: this is about 4 & 1/2 years total, so Oichi grows from baby to toddler, so Nobunaga basically takes on training & raising her himself.
Imagawa: cw: War
- Owari finally united, Nobunaga has a teeny tiny 1000 man army, and ambition larger than anyone known to others, it'll kill him or change the world. Fortunately he has a lot of strong friends who believe in him changing the world. (or they'll die trying...) But "negotiations" with Imagawa's army who wish to march through Owari have fallen apart, or rather, never happened, because Imagawa has 250,000 troops to Nobunaga's 1000. Not to mention, Nobunaga is a radical hothead who very few people believe in that much, and Imagawa is a hardline traditionalist who believes in strength and breaking people so they don't act up.
- Nobunaga going crazy running around Owari trying to round up people and promising their safety (not much changed huh)
- Ieyasu is captive by Imagawa so Nobunaga is taking a "gamble" on getting into contact with him.
- Rounding up sake (he has a plan!)
- Even promising the shrine a negotiation (a wall!) in exchange for their prayers / support. He'll explain this to close CR. He makes it seem like his troops hunker here (the most logical defensive position they would be very very expected to take!)
- Instead he splits the army, they sneak into blending into Imagawa's forces and help get them drunk every night for over a week. It becomes a routine after a week, and Imagawa gets annoyed when/if Oda & co. make it seem like it's continued into the next morning. So (predictably) they surround Imagawa's tent (in disguise) and make it sound like they partying is still ongoing. When Imagawa comes out to yell at them, Nobunaga attacks! -- This is already IRL historically divergent. Nobunaga IRL beheaded him, but not in IkeSen. So Imagawa actually survived in IkeSen, not that Nobunaga/Ieyasu and co. knew it
- Takes the Souza Samonji sword as a trophy, but he's a scrawny teenager, so he actually cuts it shorter, and emblazons his own mark on it and the provenance. This begins a lifelong trend for Nobunaga.
- Join him in literally building a brick wall for a SHRINE by hand? He promised, after all.
- Oichi said he was favored by Amaterasu, and she's a BABBY (5 yo) so he doesn't bother trying to be like "GODS ARE FAKEY FAKE DAMN IT" -- She also begs him to take him to war :VVV He refuses at least?
- Has a bunch of his main generals by this point. And got back Ieyasu

Kitsuno and/or Brothels ++ Sending away Oichi/Katsuie:
- Kitsuno is Nobunaga's first love. She's extremely sickly, and although he runs around trying to find a cure/treatment, it's no good, she dies from it. IRL she lived longer and bore him 3 children etc. Not so in IkeSen ofc.
- Nobunaga goes to brothels. Yay geishas-before-they-were-even-that-codified.
- At first Nobunaga was thinking of marrying Oichi off as politics would have it, but he concedes into marrying her to one of his best generals Katsuie, whom she's always been enamored/in love with, but has to exile them so only Hideyoshi knows how to reach them.
- Kitsuno's death sends Nobunaga into another very dark depression / angry with the world spiral.
Kennyo, Ikkou Ikki, and pre-Mt. Hiei Holocaust: cw: cults, castes, brainwashing, even of children
- A huge obstacle to unification is the Buddhist cults. They're all separate factions and not beholden to the Emperor or any outside recognizable force or laws. They don't kidnap children, but do take in children for anyone too poor to raise them independently, and indeed, the monks are the only main source of education (indoctrination) and create a recurring cycle of staying within the caste lines. "Reincarnate into a better life." Which goes against everything Nobunaga wants.
- Kennyo has some pretty LOUD heated arguments with Nobunaga.
- Nobunaga is unusually quiet through it! Esp. unusual to anyone who knows happy Nobunaga who is a loud af asshole.
Mt. Hiei Holocaust - Cw: Genocide
- None of Nobuanga's generals "agreed" with this
- After trying for a peaceful solution/surrender with Kennyo, the Ikkou Ikki still fought back, yelling that Nobunaga is the Demon King of 6th Heaven, so they believed surrendering would damn them forever even past death.
- He gets fed up and burns the whole mountain and the cult complex. "30,000" women and children included -- SUPPOSEDLY. It should be noted, however, that excavations show it's actually not nearly as bad as either Oda or monks said, there were next to no children, and indeed, Mitsuhide Akechi rescued HUGE numbers of them (anyone who was willing basically) and secured them in his own province (which is why even now he's seen as a hero not a betrayer in his hometown IRL)
- Nobunaga goes pretty icy in it, colorblind, and is pretty upfront, but leans hard into being the Demon King and a monster etc. He expects, and does think he deserves to be hated for it.
Rescue from Honnou-Ji: CW: Fire
- Literal introduction to the game/manga. Nobuanga gets rescued from Honnou-Ji being lit on fire by Mai Mizusaki (or YOU!) and an assassination attempt by a mysterious figure
- redo of actual intro possibly and/or witness him being an extreme weirdo canon manga for lulz
