probably the reason she can't sleep well is because she spirals out over every damn little thing that's bothering her or getting caught up in theorizing or doomscrolling through her mind, and then she'll catch herself and try to focus on what she's happy about instead. (which usually leads right back into worrying about the people she cares about.)

He says he doesn't remember his childhood. And this is mostly true, a LOT of it is a complete blank to him. If he's pressed a lot, he'll fill in with "Probably because a demon possessed me and ate it" though a little less now that everyone who knows fucking anything about demons keeps telling him, "No, that's not it," and Klaus has straight up told him it's a trauma response. "Harrowing," is probably the best description, and yet, he'd point out he probably had the most advantages of everyone in "hell" for his time =\ So. Yeah. It 100% shaped everything he is now. Especially on Serena Eterna because he's reverted a fuckton to his childish Kipposhi inner ways of enthusiasm and gremlin child now that he's not responsible for a literal army or having to pretend to be serious about literally anything.

He wouldn't go back. You could not even force him to. He'd shut the fuck down if an event came up PROBABLY. Unless it finagled around his blocks etc. He hasn't exactly embraced adulthood, I mean... look at him. It's just more trauma response and living his childhood now instead oops.

If you ask her Erin'll say no time is wasted, merely spent, but the closest you'll find to her 'wasting' time is going on very long walks. It's not directly productive or artistic, but the act is...meditative, for her. Soothing.

Tricky questions! Ari's response would be that she doesn't want to and she won't, because she doesn't have time for this. She'd actively avoid it, because love means trouble and heartache when you have to leave them behind.

That said, hypothetically: someone at least a few years older, with shared values of liberty and individuality, and cultural understanding even if they weren't from exactly the same culture. An intellectual equal who enjoys debate. Someone who accepts her for who she is and wouldn't want her to change her appearance or behavior, and would understand that her career always comes first. As disparaging as she can be of the idea, if she thought about it enough she'd prefer someone planetside, on a Company world, even if it meant not seeing them often, because another careerist Tradeliner is inevitably going to have conflict with her over whose career matters more, and she'd refuse to sacrifice her ambitions for someone else.

She's not very demonstrative, but she does tell people how she feels about them, even if there's usually a degree of understatement there. She spends time with them, and if she really loved someone (romantically or otherwise) she'd do practically anything to make their life easier, provided it didn't clash with her ambitions.

Obligatory 'Darcy is a chronic insomniac who doesn't always sleep at sensible hours' but.

If she's not tired enough to pass out right away her head will be too busy to sleep, and she'll probably get up to patrol or do something productive. But her own mistakes do plague her if she's lying there doing nothing else, and she has a habit of running conversations or training sessions over in her head to pick out where she went wrong. It's easier for her to just keep moving and keep her mind focused on tasks at hand while she's doing shit. Presently she's been praying a rosary if she Needs to sleep in order to settle her mind.

Intensely. But she is the shyest character I can think of, and easily shuts down getting flustered. She has two total friends at the start of canon. One is her poltergeist: Pico, who held her hand as a crying infant, and is now cursed to stay with her or risk dissolving into nothing (Pico is not here since my twin bro's health isn't stable yet) and 2 is the divine dragon Ventuswill whom Dolce underwent a spell for a few centuries to extend her life.

Dolce desperately wants friends, but she has a very sharp tongue, and is so shy she usually fails a lot! To this end, usually, Pico has to go act crazy so Dolce even has opportunities to meet others! Mostly she's very very VERY shy when she first meets new people, and worried about making a good impression, especially because she is super weird and sees/talks to ghosts and doesn't always know if someone is a ghost or not. Ironically she handles ghosts better because there's no pressure there oops.

Probably in the same job, finishing up her five-year contract on her ship after this terrible, unavoidable delay.

If by some miracle she leaves the Serena Eterna tomorrow, so that contract is up five years from now, or some timeline shenanigans return her to the moment she left regardless, the next step for her is finding a place on another starship, where she can be first astrogator - the head of the astrogation department, essentially. She can't do that on her current ship because the first astrogator there (Leah Savitskaya) really isn't going anywhere. Ari won't want to leave the ship that will have been her home for nine years by that point, but she'll do it because she knows it's the only way for her career to progress.

Try to ask Ari where she sees herself in 5 years if she can't go home and you just get a very curt 'no thank you.' She's unwilling even to contemplate it.

It's very fair to say that Yato suffers from afflictions like depression, anxiety, athazagoraphobia (which is the fear of being forgotten) and PTSD. All of which are strictly the result of the abuse cycle he finds himself in, and will likely persist until he happens to break that cycle, because Father knows exactly which buttons to push to leave him terrified.

He has some very good upswings, where things don't bother him as much but they usually come crashing down around him specifically because if things get too good, Father usually intervenes to take away any outside influence that Yato is too close to. Naturally blaming him for the result, a blame he's internalized pretty thoroughly. He believes he's the cause of bad things happening to those around him, when in actuality, it's not him at all.

Yato is not cognizant of the problem at all. He sees Father's interventions as a problem, and he understands his desired role in stopping them, but as far as anything he's endured or been subjected to, all of that is irrelevant. The burdens he carries and feels he has to carry are just that. Neuroses are for humans. He also remains silent on the issue, to the point that people are incredibly frustrated with him at his lack of disclosure on the matter.

Yato believes no one cares what happens to the gods - there's no one to protect him if he doesn't do it himself. Even Heaven turning on Father has nothing at all to do with his relationship to Yato, but rather the fact he ruffled the wrong feathers. It's perfectly acceptable to Yato to treat gods however you want.

So Jeff... tries his best! (He doesn't always succeed.) Which is to say: he really does want to help people, and he's definitely inclined to help however he can, if he notices that somebody may need help--

BUT.

He's a bit limited in the type of help he can/will offer. He's not an action hero, and he can't swoop in and save the day with, like, fighting or strategy or anything like that. But he tries his best to provide comfort, support, that kind of assistance. And in a tense situation, he'll happily distract, or use magic to, like, put an aggressive person to sleep, stuff like that.

AND WHY DOES HE DO THIS? Honestly, it's probably because his family (biological AND chosen), friends, and community was full of people who stressed peace, compassion, activism, arts, emotions, all that hippie dippy touchy feely stuff. He feels a lot, okay!

It is not clear specifically where Yato was first born, but he never felt much of an attachment to the location. The home that wound up connecting him to Nora and Father actually exists in the heavenly plain of Takama-ga-hara. He avoids that place like the plague and would do anything to never have to set foot there again. He has no desire to involve himself with either one of them.

Where he was born on the Earthbound plain, he was the opposite of a hero considering his task at the time was to eradicate everyone he came across in order to please Father. While some good things happened there - he met Sakura, he learned what people were actually about and he learned and nurtured his compassion - he also made the greatest mistake of his life which cost him Sakura, and gave him his -NE suffix that he memorializes his foolish actions. He also killed a lot of people.

If asked, he would probably say he's from Tokyo and his home with Yukine, Kofuku and Daikoku and Hiyori is what he'd point to. In that place, he is a hero now, albeit one in the shadows and he's very very proud of this place. He wants nothing more than to keep living there for the forseeable future.

idk if this is a boring answer but

Cuddling, staying in, enjoying soft, quiet moments with them. Basically, he'll party with anyone, he'll hook up with anyone, he'll go out and go wild with them, etc etc but it's usually pretty shallow for him. He's great at acquaintances and flings, and most of his interactions won't go much deeper than that.

So when he's comfortable enough to just be with somebody, and exist in non-sexual intimacy, and drop the performance-of-the-day, that's pretty much how he shows love.

She's typically spent very little time on it in the past, being way too laser-focused on her research to bother very much. At the time, she also didn't care to bother with other people, so she didn't care how they saw her, and would see prettying herself up as nothing more than a waste of time

It's a viewpoint that's changed a little; she still isn't going to bother with makeup or do much with her hair beyond giving it a brush, but that's not to say she doesn't dislike looking good, though! She's been known to check herself out in the mirror now and then if she's put on something she likes. And between spending more time with people in general--what with not being consumed with SCIENCE every waking moment anymore--and getting close to a certain someone with heightened senses...she might even start to bathe, like. Every other day. Maybe even every day?! Anything's possible...

ACTION

Jeff loves action movies. He loves it when they're just loud and silly and over the top and super homoerotic have happy endings. Give him a popcorn flick any day!!

He's also probably into comedies, from the raunchy shit that definitely didn't age well, to rom coms, to campy stuff, to like... those sci-fi/fantasy-ish comedies that were all the rage in the 70s and 80s (Splash, Heaven Can Wait, Flash Gordon, Big, Beetlejuice, etccccc)

he doesn't really like books :(

WAIT NO THAT'S NOT TRUE, he DOES like books on magical theory. He's actually a huge nerd for devouring all resources on the Gift, whether it's theory, principles, philosophy, historical witchy types, whatever.
