Headcanons are my absolute favourite part of RP, so I wanted an excuse to be nosy and read some of yours!!

Loves being around other people and hates being alone. Being alone (or ignored!!) is one of the worst things! He's easygoing and casual, good with names and faces, and doesn't care about things like differences in social standing or other people's reputations, etc. etc. Very much someone who loves others and wants to be a good friend.
I personally headcanon that, because his early life was spent pretending to be someone else and the rest of his mortal life involved being cursed and unable to make friends or trust anyone, he's always making up for lost time by trying to befriend everyone and clinging tightly to anyone that manages to gain his trust... π₯²

Anyway, helping people is really important to Shi Qingxuan. He never really presents it as a godly responsibility so much as it's just part of his own moral code to help others and use his own power and influence to do it. He's not dumb enough to get himself physically hurt while helping someone or trying to do something he knows is beyond his means, but if he can help someone, he will! He'll even help people who he previously went against because he believes in positive change and repentance over punishment.
In game, being helpful hasn't actually bitten him in the ass yet, though it'd be fun if it did!! In canon, he dismisses the idea, and he also has his older brother shielding him from any major blowback. But this side of him has still caused trouble in that people will use him (because he's generous!) but will not return the favor or get too close to him (because no-one wants to get pulled into something that can possibly trouble them). Shi Qingxuan is aware of this fact. It does not dissuade him, it just makes him extra surprised whenever a friendship doesn't follow that formula...
