Daily Routines & Handwaved CR Meme, VOLUME 2

Handwaved CR Meme

The passengers have been living on this ship for a while now, and it's likely that they've fallen into certain habits and routines. Little things have become part of their day, from lunch dates with friends, to quiet nights in the library, or long-standing blood feuds. Even the newest passengers have likely found themselves some common haunts and familiar faces. This is a meme to talk about, flesh out, and collaborate on some of those behind-the-scenes moments and routines!

  1. Post a comment with your character's name & cabin number in the header, and give us an idea of what sort of things they get up to around the ship! Be as detailed or as vague as you'd like.
  2. Talk about what kind of handwaved CR you can inspire! Is your character the type to stop and chat with friends on the promenade? Are they consistently the highest score on multiple arcade cabinets? IDK, you tell me!
  3. When you look at other characters' routines, you might notice some moments that line up! Even if your characters are total strangers, they might see each other at the buffet every day, or maybe they're unwittingly competing for the high score on DDR. And close CR might mean weekly dinners, book clubs, sparring sessions every morning... like I said, this is where you shine!!
  4. This is also a good chance to handwave characters exchanging contact information, generating some more inbox threads!

TLDR: write about your character's life on the ship and then compare notes with other people, find CR, ???, profit

(Last meme, for those who might need it!)

Daily:
  • Helena likes to be ready and dressed before breakfast, and generally goes to Stellar in the morning. Her preferred table is somewhere nearer the wall, so at least one side of her can't be snuck up on.
  • In terms of regular appearance, she has found her way into the soft, simple sweaters of the Tommy Bahama, and defaults to skirts. The idea is easy mix-and-match, while always being well groomed. Sometimes a hat or scarf for decoration, and never without her cane. If someone's attuned to small noises, it's easy to hear her coming, since she comes with the cane's tap tapping as her navigation.
  • She gets her exercise, and typically takes a long walk around the ship in the late mornings - all those decks mean there's room to walk.
  • At some point during every day, she ends up in the library. She's a devoted reader, and there are too many to read to ever skip a day.
Regular:
  • Frequently, in the library or on the deck, she writes in her notebook - she handwrites braille, and is extraordinarily fast at it. Also does this at Sand Dollars occasionally.
  • When getting food, she relies on the assistance of the ghosts wherever she goes to enable her to pick her choices. By now, she has a vague sense of what is served, but there are helpful reminders. The exception is Scoops, where she seems to have memorized the lineup.
  • She's decided to swim to build endurance, and so she sometimes is out there, doing laps. A t-shirt and shorts works for a bathing costume.
  • Helena is regularly plagued by nightmares, so her sleep schedule is erratic and usually broken - she deals by going out and walking, journaling, and generally acting as if it was just a nap that's now over. She sleeps better during the day, and does take naps.
  • She completely avoids the bars onboard, save John's should an actual passenger be playing the piano. There's no reason for her to hang there, so she'd rather find somewhere else.
  • She's absolutely been in the morgue once or twice, but scampers if someone else is coming.
  • Overall, she's a curious sort, so she's been poking about in many places. Helena was staying with Clarke for a while at the beginning of the month, but has returned to her own cabin now.

Daisy Tonner, Cabin 122

[personal profile] hadnoright 2022-11-21 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
~ Daisy, generally, seems far too familiar with the ship for someone who is, as far as most people's face-based memory will go, basically brand new this month. She navigates the place like someone who's lived here for years, because, well, she did.
~ Doesn't frequent the bars much at all, but you'll occasionally catch her in Hurikane with a drink she isn't touching and her eyes mostly on other people.
~ Eats at the Drunken Sailor sometimes on account of being British. This is the only place you might catch her drinking alcohol for real (beer), but she never drinks enough to get even slightly tipsy.
~ Eat at the buffet more often, and seems to eat far more than her size (5'2" and skinny to the point of concerning) would suggest she does. Lot of meats.
~ She actually occasionally uses the spa facilities, and also you might find her applying nail varnish sometimes. Mostly to her toes these days as the claws don't take it so well, but.
~ When working out, she is a) far too strong and fast for her size and b) she does not shy away from using her claws on the punching bag. She's avoiding actual sparring right now because actually making someone bleed is a dangerous game for her trying not to give into the Hunt too hard.
~ Can be found sitting around with her earbuds connected to her phone from home, just... listening to the Archers.
~ If you're not human, left-of-human, or have told me your character puts off particularly strong vibes of an Entity, you've probably been glared at or at least caught her looking at you.
~ She's still pretty easy to piss off and get to flash her teeth, if you want a suitably bad first impression. Scaring people without hurting people helps take the edge off the gnawing of the Hunt.
~ She's not quite nocturnal but she is up late at night often. Her sleep isn't great. When you catch her at night she seems almost more animalistic than usual, and you might catch shine behind her eyes in the right light.
~ Daisy, generally, looks... a little off. Her teeth are sharp like a predator's. Her nails are claw-like. Her eyes are just a little wrong. Her body language is like a graceful predator. She's currently metaphysically malnourished and it shows physically.
~ She tends to present herself as put-together and feminine. Not skirts, generally, but colourful jeans, or a pair with flowers sewn into them. Blouses, flowery shirts, comfortable swears. Daisy earrings, daisies on clothes when she can. Pretty, soft things over scars and monstrous things.
~ Currently, she's just kind of aimless, trying to figure out what to do about being stuck here. Also, please anyone who's in a thread with her feel free to clock she's not as new as she pretends, she is NOT a subtle as she thinks she is.

Honoria Crabb, Cabin 129

[personal profile] pointofhonoria 2022-11-21 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
~ Since October, Crabb's been a little more restless and gravitating to places with people more. She's still kinda shit at starting up a normal conversation out of the blue, but she's more likely to try than before.
~ She would attend meetings aimed at the previously possessed, I just ran out of tag-out energy around the time that went up, so any other possessed, assume you saw her there at least!
~ Has been lingering around Photos at Sea a lot this month, trying to decide if she's ready to brave looking at photos from October.
~ Regularly works out in Calgona, tends to focus on the punching bag and also strength stuff; she's pretty damn strong, honestly, it's just not obvious under layers of clothes. Gets her running in on the sports deck in the mornings.
~ Will also attend fight club when it's on, sometimes. She is almost solely a hand-to-hand brawler but she doesn't have terrible aim either. Not trained, very self-taught, though her technique's getting a bit tighter with time here since she's actually practicing more often and has Erin training with her.
~ Frequents Tauva. She's not a smoker herself, but she's used to people smoking around her and she likes the whiskeys there. Sits around and drinks, but also scribbling in a notebook about everything from theories and records about the ship, to things back home, to just... random thoughts.
~ Swings by Hurikane mostly when Johnny's there mixing drinks, but you still might have seen her around.
~ Mostly eats at the buffet, but occasionally gets something at the Drunken Sailor. Sometimes sits in Sand Dollars to get coffee. Sits around the lounge watching folks sometimes, especially around excursion sign-ups when those come around.
~ Goes through the books in the library occasionally, not really to read for their own sake but to try and get a sense of more modern media for the sake of understanding the Captain's shit. Might enjoy some like, mystery/crime/whatever books for their own sake but there's equal odds she gets frustrated at bad ones. She also now has a pile of lesbian romance novels that you might very very occasionally catch her with.
~ Wandering. Whenever she's not doing something specific, she's probably going to be wandering because staying still sucks. Less frequently these days, she needs more naps to make up for crappy sleep, but still.
~ Occasionally, the life-size plushie she got of a little red French bulldog is with her when she's somewhere taking notes. Give her weird looks at your own peril, she might've called you on it if you did.
~ Crabb absolutely loves to just sit and throw thoughts back and forth with someone, whether about the boat or just anything. Gotta keep the brain active.
~ Introduces herself as Honoria Crabb, but immediately says everyone just calls her Crabb.
~ Appearance wise, she continues to lean more and more into butch styles. She has flannels now, and is generally wearing button-ups with sensible trousers, but sometimes goes as far as casual suits.
~ Is dating the woman (Erin) the Captain called a slaver in front of god and everyone at the game show, and was visibly comforting her in the aftermath. She isn't huge on PDA but you might have seen that and might see them around sometimes
littlefairytale: (atlas; neutral smirk)

Ruby Rose, Cabin 108

[personal profile] littlefairytale 2022-11-21 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
~ Up until November, Ruby was training on the sports deck basically daily with her giant scythe-rifle. These days, it's more like she'll train with weaponry once or twice a week and just do normal exercise other days (running, swimming, acrobatic-y stuff, etc) instead.
~ She will occasionally be on the sports deck running maintenance on her scythe-rifle with a toolkit she just got. Regular little engineer/mechanic, grease smears and all.
~ She will also still attend fight club and help with the small unit tactics side of things. During this she'll be more focused on hand-to-hand and may be trying to pick up sword use.
~ She mostly eats at the buffet and tends to pick a few familiar foods over and over again. If you see her with coffee, it's loaded with milk and sugar. If you see her with tea, it's not and she favours like oolong teas and so on. Besides the buffet you might catch her getting ice cream.
~ She frequents the library, mostly sitting down with either a copy of Fairy Tales of Remnant from her world or some other books that she's decided to try or people have recommended. Always down for more recommendations and always down to talk about what she's reading, or what you're reading. Usually sat on the floor. Occasionally falls asleep.
~ Has been frequenting playback more and more frequently, sometimes with friends sometimes on her own. She will challenge folks, but beware if it's a game that requires quick hand-eye coordination, she may kick your butt.
~ Occasionally, a streak of red/burst of petals might nyoom by you in the hallways or outside as Ruby decides she's in a rush to get somewhere. She may also have run directly into you! She will apologise.
~ Less frequently than before, she can be found wandering late at night after a nightmare.
~ Be aware the only times this girl takes off either her red hooded cloak (or red-lined white hooded cloak, she's wearing that less often now) are to sleep, shower, swim, or occasionally when doing workouts. The hood is rarely up, though.
~ ALSO she got some gundam model kits recently and might be found starting to try and work on those?
~ She will be responsible for the teen/young adult party going up in the next few days so even if we don't thread there, if your character comes feel free to assume they recognise her from that.
astrogator: (Default)

Arilanna Tayrey | 159

[personal profile] astrogator 2022-11-21 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Schedule:
- Ari's teaching herself to swim. She goes when the pool is quietest: very late night or early morning. Her sleep schedule is an erratic mess right now, don't mind her.
- Every day after dark she'll go up on deck and record the position of the stars. She knows they're fake. At this point she's analysing for long patterns.
- She's in the gym a few times a week, lifting very heavy weights. She's also often with Nobunaga and Klaus in the afternoons, learning self-defense skills.
- Periodically she'll patrol the ship, although she changes her route reguarly.
- To relax, Ari goes to the pubs and bars. She has a policy of never drinking alone, so she will walk up to strangers and strike up conversations if she can't see anyone she knows.
- She also attends the poetry club and will share poems she knows about space battles and heroic corporate executives. Yes, really.

Interaction:
- Except when she's exercising, Ari's always wearing her blue and silver Tradeliner (space military) uniform. She's likely to introduce herself as 'Lieutenant Tayrey of the Tradelines' to new acquaintances, and will happily explain what that means if prompted. With new people she tends to be polite and formal. She'd say 'professional'.
- She will not let anyone else inside her cabin. Where she's from, you don't do that unless it's for sex, and while she now knows that's a fairly unusual custom, she's still uncomfortable breaking the taboo. Anyone inviting her to their cabin will find that she's evasive or suggests another location. She may blush awkwardly.
- Ari doesn't eat any meat or fish. Or as she'll put it, 'animal flesh' or 'anything that was once a living creature'. Maybe she'll notice if someone else always has the vegetarian options at dinner.
- She's terrified of pirates and likely to threaten any that she meets. Conversely, she's friendly towards any military types, or people from space.
- She's read all the information in the library binder but refuses to believe certain parts without very compelling evidence - specifically, she still has hope that she can get home someday, and she flatly denies that she is 'a copy' - if there's someone replacing her back home, they're the copy. She's Arilanna Tayrey. She's likely to change the subject if people get argumentative about this.

- Your character may know who she is due to the fact that she recently won the Grand Prize in the Price is Right game.

hellonspectacles: (Fiat lux!)

Palamedes Sextus, Room 105

[personal profile] hellonspectacles 2022-11-21 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Pal is a weirdo nerd who can often be seen camped out in various parts of the ship surrounded by books and notes. Some of his favorite haunts are:

--> The Library. A pretty common place for him to camp out, sometimes for a full day or more. He has even been known to fall asleep there. Sometimes, when he stressed or working through something complex, he starts to put the books on the bookshelves in Dewy Decimal order.

--> Sand Dollars. He enjoys the cookies and the weird coffee drinks. Is definitely That Guy in the coffee shop who spreads out his stuff over the biggest table and works for hours.

--> the Atrium. Also known to camp out here sometimes because he thinks the chairs are cozy.

--> the Infirmary. Pal doesn't spend hours on end here, but he usually has a couple of experiments set up in test tubes and petri dishes. He has been quietly trying to figure out if "dying" aboard leaves any physiological traces, and while he hasn't discovered anything, he hasn't given up yet. Any samples he leaves out are labeled P. Sextus, Room 105. DO NOT TOUCH.

Other random things:

--> Pal's schedule varies pretty wildly, as he can often hyper-fixate on a project and forget to eat or drink. He takes his meals when he remembers, or when someone reminds him, usually at the buffet, since it allows him to graze and drink tea at all hours.

--> Pal is friendly and usually happy to share what he's working on, but isn't big on smalltalk. With close CR particularly, he is very happy to just sit with someone quietly without chatting at all.

--> He texts his CR random stuff he learns on the regular. Some of this is useful and metaplot related, but sometimes it's just like, 'Dear friend, Did you know that most of the ship's light fixtures use about 15 watts of electricity? PS.'

--> Though they aren't really telling people, Pal and Clarke are what you could call an item. They're not big on PDA, but people will certainly see them spending a lot of time together. During the month of October, Clarke basically lived in his cabin. Since he got a roommate, she's there less, but still pretty regularly there.

--> He almost always has a pencil, a small measuring tape, a pocket magnifying glass, a bone shard, a handkerchief, and a pocket knife on his person. He will let people borrow these things if they need them, just ask nicely and give them back.

--> Since the October plot, Pal has been making it widely known that he is available to ward people's cabins, making them impenetrable to ghosts. He can also ward cabins against specific people if you're into that, but he might have follow-up questions if you ask him to. hmu if your character would be interested and/or you want more deets.
goodweather: (thanks for watching!)

Phil Connors, cabin 137

[personal profile] goodweather 2022-11-21 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
around the ship:
- Phil used to be a very consistent regular at John's, practicing piano for at least an hour and often more in the evenings, but the first two weeks of November were completely silent. He's returned, albeit somewhat sporadically, and his practicing seems to be less stable now. (It's partially the fault of his new talons.) He doesn't look up when people walk in, except in between pieces. He's very good, and favors classical and jazz.
- He's a regular at the gym, doing mostly cardio stuff. He's weirdly stacked.
- Phil reads from the library pretty often, but he's outside more than in; his favorite spots for reading are in public avenues, like the lounge, the pool deck, or alongside the Promenade.
- He likes to watch the sunset.
- Phil appears a little more frequently now in Tauva than before.
- Phil appears in Fight Club, either working on footwork or being coached by Darcy in swordsmanship. He's... visibly a beginner.
- He drops by each of the restaurants and bars once in a while, but John's, Tauva, and Drunken Sailor seem to be favorites, John's above all.
- He can also be found around the ship just... fucking around, doing incredibly useless shit like cobbling together ice cubes and employing his minor ice powers and talons and a knife he found to make ice sculptures. Or making ugly weavings with shoelaces he filched from the Tommy Bahama. Or building card houses. It looks like he's just doing things for the hell of it, because he is. Who care.
- He can occasionally be found in the sauna, cleaning and preening his wings.
- About twice a week he can be seen on a rooftop, writing things down on a clipboard, some devices at his feet. He's keeping track of the weather.
- He's very prone to striking up casual conversation and makes for pleasant, easygoing company, cracking sarcastic jokes that don't feel like barbs. He's very insightful, though, and will note behavior, even if he says nothing of it.

of note:
- Phil does not fly at all, except to forego the elevator while in the Atrium or Promenade. His flight is completely soundless.
- He looks Tired.
- He still wears his wedding ring.
millay: (Default)

Maeve Millay, cabin 104

[personal profile] millay 2022-11-21 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
» Maeve is on team "not actually sleeping" so she's either in her room or walking. This month, she's usually out late on the deck or sitting somewhere alone because well, feelings. She doesn't know. If she's not paying attention, please understand she's zoned out to the sounds of the technology on the boat around her. Feel free to see that whenever
» She's getting back into katana stuff and is probably on the sportsdeck sometimes and will probably get back to lessons with Ava (and anyone else that might want to learn, just poke her about it)
» She's avoiding John's for the most part again since her last encounter with Phil. She's having a lot of feelings about it and sometimes she is just standing there staring at it sadly before forcibly leaving.
» She's willing to talk to pretty much anyone that runs into her at this point.
» Will probably be around the ship occasionally reading books. I've made the executive decision that she's discovered romance novels, so she's occasionally just sitting there laughing at the terrible innuendos.
» She's still coming out to drink occasionally, but still avoiding John's until further notice. She'd usually go to Tauva, but once she notices Phil is going there more, she'll just...go to Hurrikane or the pool bar because...sdjakflnsdfjknalsfkjasnfkasf. HER EMOTIONS, Okay?
» Tends to go to the buffet more than anywhere else, but occasionally does go to places like Mikabo for food.

Giles, Cabin 140

[personal profile] ring_for_giles 2022-11-21 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
✦ Since returning to himself on November 1st, Giles has been making himself scarce, and hasn't been out into the ship proper very much at all.

✦ On the odd occasion that he does venture out, he's usually in the company of Ossie. Or, even more infrequently, on his own in the library.

✧ Those who try to talk to him may find him a little vaguer than usual, and if they've met before it's about a 60/40 shot as to whether he'll remember or not.

✦ The little black and white cat has made a reappearance! But it's also pretty rare, find it in the library or Mikabo. It doesn't approach anxious strangers the way it used to any more though.

✦ Texting is infrequent, he'll still respond to close CR when he remembers about the existence of phones, but won't initiate text conversations

If the visits up to the bridge have become more frequent, then since Darcy spends a bit of time up there on the roof....... I think it's safe to say she's seen him go in there at least once or twice

Better hope that never comes up!!

Natsuno Yuuki, cabin 109

[personal profile] neverleave 2022-11-21 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
- Natsuno doesn't really need to sleep, so he's around even in very late hours! He usually eats in Windjammer and prefers nighttime, and often gets "coffee" from one specific machine (blood, he drinks blood). Sometimes there are red rings glowing in his eyes. Don't worry about it.

- Pool deck: Where he watches movies. They're all campy as hell and he won't admit to enjoying them. Latest events made the gory and/or ghost horror flicks lose their appeal, so now he watches either trashy horror films or very obvious comedies (think Young Frankensetin)

- Library: visits several times a week, though he can also be found reading in Sand Dollars. He's taking a break from horror so he reads mostly mystery and books where nothing supernatural happens, for escapism. Except mythology, he still reads mythology.

- Sports deck: used for target practice. He sets up ping-pong tables with items and shoots at them.

- Arcade: where he goes for a distraction. He plays pretty much anything but isn't particularly invested in beating the score.

- Around: like a true angsty teen, feel free to spot him in various places and ledges, staring glumly at nothing while listening to metal. He probably spends a lot of nights like this. Also, if your character is doing anything interesting or plot-related, he might be lurking around trying to snoop.

- Do you have CR with Clarke, Rita, Jade, Pal or Mizuki? He might be shadowing them lately. Perhaps he stares at you from a corner or you see two red circles glow from the shadows. It's probably fine. He means well.

- He also hangs out with the Dioscuri a lot. No, Pollux didn't call him "Master", you must be hearing things.

Siffleur, Cabin 122

[personal profile] teethoftherisk 2022-11-21 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
If you have ever been in the Tommy Bahamas, you have possibly seen or interacted with Siffleur in his cougar form. He occasionally provides advice on where to look for specific items. Other times, he watches you from up on high. Occasionally, he might attempt to attack and kill you if you look vulnerable enough. Lately, he has started to put a sign out in front of the store encouraging people to voluntarily participate in a challenge where he has an hour to find and kill you, and if he fails, you can pet him when he's a cat. This usually goes up in the evenings. Otherwise, you can sometimes catch a glimpse of him sleeping in the various nests he's made for himself close to the top of the roof of the Tommy Bahamas, usually among the displays.

He is also regularly at the sushi bar at various hours of the day and night. Sometimes in human form, often in cougar form. He can usually be found with a bunch of plates scattered around him. Siffleur won't attack you in the sushi bar and will let you join him - but you might have to speak up to make him stop taking all the good salmon.

He can occasionally found at the buffet, also at various hours of the day and night. Siffleur is almost always in human form at the buffet, and will not attack other passengers. He's willing to engage in conversation with people if they speak to him first, but he's just as content to sit in silence at separate tables and consider that a good interaction.

He hasn't visited Hurikane much before November, but he pops up there once a week or so now, usually to say hello to Johnny and have a few drinks. Siffleur keeps more to himself when drinking - he will sometimes have a conversation, but he doesn't seek it out.

Siffleur visits his cabin every 3-4 days to shower. He usually texts Daisy in advance to make sure he won't be interrupting her. You're unlikely to catch him in his room and if you do, he's probably soaking wet and kind of miserable about it.

If you're a mother of some kind and you bring it up, he'll be very favourable to you and often offer to do things that might cheer you up, or make you happy. He's also more likely to send you a message out of the blue. This does not extend to fathers.

Siffleur is slowly starting to use his phone more and if you've had a pleasant conversation, he will respond back to any messages sent.

Phil is also on the sports deck reasonably often, and mostly recognizes Natsuno as Flamethrower Kid. He's probably offered to toss crap in the air for moving target practice at least once or twice.

Natsuno unironically likes the Tommy Bahama so they probably ran into each other. He's a scrawny teen but smells weird (vampire) and seems to be able to track Siffleur's location but scent.

If he can't avoid him while getting somewhere, Natsuno is polite and will take advice where the best items with pockets are.

Chrissy Cunningham, cabin 101

[personal profile] bubblegumheart 2022-11-21 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
-Chrissy spends a fair amount of time in the library. She tends to favor reading there, but she'll also borrow books a couple at a time if she feels like a change of scenery is in order.
-Her relationship with sleep has been rocky for a while and seems to have gotten worse since waking up on the ship. Most nights, she's able to fall asleep just fine, but she tends to wake up too early. On those nights, she'll either make a beeline for the library, or she'll wander aimlessly. Occasionally, she'll sleep in the library.
-She'll periodically visit Photos At Sea to see what she can find.
-Playback is another frequent haunt: she's mostly played pinball, but has started branching out to DDR and some of the other games.
-A lot of her meals come from the buffet, but she likes to try other places from time to time. Sand Dollars is a favorite in the morning or afternoon. John's is a favorite, but only during the Billy Joel sets.
-Chrissy sometimes hits up the pool to do laps or just float after dark when everyone else is in bed because she prefers the quiet. Scoops is a frequent follow-up.
-Occasionally, she'll hit up the gym or the sauna, but most of her exercise comes from swimming or walking (or jogging) in the early morning when most people are still in their rooms. She also frequents the running track on the sports deck.
-As far as fashion goes, she tends to stick to bright, colorful dresses or skirts and blouses. She gets cold easily, so she'll add a sweater more often than not.
-Chrissy tends to be polite but friendly with everyone she comes into contact with.
-With casual acquaintances, she sometimes feels the need to fill the silence which tends to lead to her babbling. It's something she's working on.
-With closer CR, she's more willing to sit in comfortable silence or just exist in the same space.
-Chrissy likes Vance. She got high and asked him to take her for ice cream and then proceeded to indirectly admit that she likes him. She hasn't technically said it again yet. People are welcome to have witnessed him carrying her out of the weed party and/or into Scoops. She's also currently unaware of his history of being a bully, though finding out at this point might not make much of a difference.
-People are also welcome to recognize her from the Price is Right.

● Bastion physically can't eat food or drink alcohol and doesn't need to exercise, so they don't spend much time in the gym or at the eateries and bars, unless something in there catches their eye from the hallway. They don't mind hanging out with someone else while they eat/drink/smoke though.
● They do spend time on the sports deck, tending to their garden. It doesn't need a lot of tending since it doesn't grow at all, but they water it regularly.
● They don't need to sleep, so they're often hanging out around the ship late at night; they do need to recharge once in a while and their cabin is the most convenient place to do that since it has power outlets, but they don't do this on a set schedule.
● If you sneak up on them they will freak out and yell and maybe reflexively punch/backhand you, although they won't immediately go into combat mode unless you're also pointing a deadly weapon at them when you suddenly appear inside their personal space. Their hypervigilance is such that it generally takes either intentional sneaking or superhuman sneaking abilities to get the jump on them, so baseline humans (or people with non-sneaking-related powers) don't have to worry about doing it by accident, even if they habitually walk quietly.
● They themself are not very stealthy, unless they move very slowly and carefully, since they're tall and broad and heavy by human standards and the faster they move the more metallic rattling noises they make.
● They're reasonably waterproof but they sink in deep water, so they're willing to go in or near the pools but they avoid the kind of horseplay around the railing that could lead to falling into the ocean.
● Everyone who was at the game show now knows their serial number but they will absolutely not introduce themself that way. It's not a secret like SecUnit's real name, they just don't like it. They introduce themself as "call me Bastion or E54", or just Bastion if they're in a bad mood because most people don't want to call them E54. That's their model and series - there used to be a lot of E54 Bastions - rather than a personal identifier, which is why they avoid referring to either of those as their name (the Changeling characters in particular might notice this), but those or one of the nicknames other passengers have come up with are their preferred monikers.
● They have a lot of time on their singular hand, but they're not gregarious enough to regularly approach people and start socialising, so they fill most of it by people-watching, playing whatever arcade games they can physically manage with one hand (they're getting pretty good at DDR; they can play pinball by rapidly switching between flippers, but they are not good at it), investigating the Tommy Bahama to see if it has a consistent layout they can map, and sometimes reading the library books but it's rare for them to find written fiction particularly captivating. They're too aphantasic to fill in the gaps with their imagination, so the sparser the prose the less they get out of it, and the stylised art of graphic novels is usually not much of an improvement.
● When they're not doing any of that and not actively trying to avoid other people they wander around pretty much all of the ship that they can access just to see what's going on, which they don't think of as patrolling but the main difference is that they don't consider themself obligated to intervene if they run into someone doing something dangerous or suspicious.

she's sorry about that....she personally thought it was engaging so she'll just have to try harder, she thinks!

they definitely are trading book recommendations - he'll probably see her seeking out his recs.
