Handwaved CR Meme

The passengers have been living on this ship for a while now, and it's likely that they've fallen into certain habits and routines. Little things have become part of their day, from lunch dates with friends, to quiet nights in the library, or long-standing blood feuds. Even the newest passengers have likely found themselves some common haunts and familiar faces. This is a meme to talk about, flesh out, and collaborate on some of those behind-the-scenes moments and routines!

1. Post a comment with your character's name & cabin number in the header, and give us an idea of what sort of things they get up to around the ship! Be as detailed or as vague as you'd like.
2. Talk about what kind of handwaved CR you can inspire! Is your character the type to stop and chat with friends on the promenade? Are they consistently the highest score on multiple arcade cabinets? IDK, you tell me!
3. When you look at other characters' routines, you might notice some moments that line up! Even if your characters are total strangers, they might see each other at the buffet every day, or maybe they're unwittingly competing for the high score on DDR. And close CR might mean weekly dinners, book clubs, sparring sessions every morning... like I said, this is where you shine!!
4. This is also a good chance to handwave characters exchanging contact information, generating some more inbox threads!

TLDR: write about your character's life on the ship and then compare notes with other people, find CR, ???, profit

Skulduggery Pleasant, Cabin 117

➤ Skulduggery doesn't sleep (and limits rest to occasional 15-minute "naps" in his room), so you can find him pretty much any time of the day or night. Pacing the decks, wandering the promenade, and hanging out in the library are the norm.
➤ He spends a few nights a week at the Chatterbox during karaoke hours, and sometimes will force the machine into action during the afternoon. His taste in music is, in Ava's words, "dad-core" but on the plus side, he only ever picks songs he's good at singing! (Unless someone negs him into some seven-minute song that's partially in French...)
➤ Less frequent but also happening: late-night visits to the gym. Ostensibly to keep up his boxing skills, but in reality, he has a lot of frustration to work out on a whole lot of punching bags.
➤ When he visits the bridge, it's always late at night. These visits have gone up considerably in the past month!
➤ He flies out towards the barrier on a bi-weekly basis. Flying is a fun pastime, but it also serves as a chance for him to check on the discarded pieces of Totally Normal Armor he may or may not have shucked into the ocean. As an added bonus: less people!
➤ Crowds are kind of a no-go for him these days. He can tolerate it well enough, but he's likely to slip out of larger events and seems comfortable by himself. Turns out a year of isolation in a hell dimension really puts a damper on close quarters.
➤ He isn't comfortable being snuck up on. He probably won't set someone on fire over it, but if he's really caught off guard he'll probably try to punch them. It's nothing personal, unless you make it tht way.
➤ STILL, he's very social so he'll stop to talk to anyone who needs him. He has no problem with small talk and TBH is probably better at it than I am... If he sees someone he doesn't recognize, there's a good chance he'll wander up on them just to see what their deal is.
➤ If he's talked to you enough, there's a good chance he's mentioned Fio and Darcy in a way that makes it sound like he's proud of his kids. (That's because he is!!!)
➤ Despite not eating or drinking, Skulduggery doesn't mind it if people invite him to eat or drink. People who drink around him will find that he's actually a solid designated, getting people back to their rooms or up to the buffet for some carbs.
➤ Close CR can assume he's invited them to karaoke at least once!!
➤ As for his phone: Skulduggery uses it quite frequently. Close CR can assume he texts about weird occurrences (sometimes known as gossip) around the ship. Anyone who knows him can text him for any reason though!!

If the visits up to the bridge have become more frequent, then since Darcy spends a bit of time up there on the roof....... I think it's safe to say she's seen him go in there at least once or twice

Ari has probably seen him pacing the decks, because she does that too. It's notable because her mental reaction would be to freak out at the sight of a walking skeleton, and she'd stare. Sorry. She'll be perfectly polite if he speaks to her, though. Just a bit creeped out.

that's totally cool, skulduggery is definitely used to unfamiliar people being confused and creeped out by him!! he usually lets people approach him on their own terms, so there may have been one of those awkward introductory small-talk moments on the promenade, but otherwise, he'd let her come to him when she's up to dealing with him!!

I feel like Jade has learned the timing of Skulduggery's karaoke sessions at this point...he probably drops by to popcorn the singing and/or commentate on the song selection with him sometimes! Wouldn't usually be in the mood for much singing himself but maybe Skuls has very occasionally managed to strongarm Jade into it here and there by now lmao

Also I actually don't remember if I've had Jade witness Skulduggery flying in a thread yet?? If not we can probably assume he's seen it by this time though, since that seems to be another routine of Skully's! Jade's probably picked up/learned that he's checking out the barrier at the least by now, and likely hangs out by the rail on the main deck sometimes to watch his progress/ask if anything's changed when he gets done with his circuit out there

i absolutely approve of them hanging out durin karaoke timesssss skulduggery would use the time to put on some absolutely atrocious earth music hahaha

yesss i think that's good too, we can definitely assume by now skulduggery's mentioned it or jade's talked to him while he's just like, floating by the ship hahah

given that jade Knows about vile, he'd probably know that skuls dropped the armor into the ocean. tbh jade vibe checking him after he gets back to make sure he isn't like, more crazy or something is hilarious to me idk why

Given that Skulduggery was one of the first people Jack got to order drinks for him, he's probably invited/requested Skulduggery out to drink a few times. Even if it ends with them grabbing a handful of bottles to restock Jack's personal supplies, he probably tries to like, slip in an actual conversation over a drink just to make it feel more normal and not like a business transaction.

(Though this probably didn't happen in October for Various Reasons including Skulduggery being busy, Jack being on-edge, and the bars being open lol).

Conversation topics are light and mainly about the goings-on on the ship, what he's been up to, new people he's seen, interesting encounters he witnessed, etc etc, and he wouldn't pry too much into Skully's business either.

Otherwise they probably pass each other regularly at night too since Jack still wanders around the ship when he's feeling restless.

yeaaaah man they just talk about random gossip, new people, maybe if something interesting gets written in the binder (that isn't SUPER DEPRESSING) he'd probably mention it

Oh yeah, Jack's absolutely not prying about the binder or anything ship related, Jack copes by not thinking about it, but he's game to talk if Skulduggery brings it up first.
