Daily Routines & Handwaved CR Meme
Handwaved CR Meme
The passengers have been living on this ship for a while now, and it's likely that they've fallen into certain habits and routines. Little things have become part of their day, from lunch dates with friends, to quiet nights in the library, or long-standing blood feuds. Even the newest passengers have likely found themselves some common haunts and familiar faces. This is a meme to talk about, flesh out, and collaborate on some of those behind-the-scenes moments and routines!
- Post a comment with your character, and give us an idea of what sort of things they get up to around the ship! Be as detailed or as vague as you'd like.
- Talk about what kind of handwaved CR you can inspire! Is your character the type to stop and chat with friends on the promenade? Are they consistently the highest score on multiple arcade cabinets? IDK, you tell me!
- When you look at other characters' routines, you might notice some moments that line up! Even if your characters are total strangers, they might see each other at the buffet every day, or maybe they're unwittingly competing for the high score on DDR. And close CR might mean weekly dinners, book clubs, sparring sessions every morning... like I said, this is where you shine!!
- This is also a good chance to handwave characters exchanging contact information, generating some more inbox threads!
TLDR: write about your character's life on the ship and then compare notes with other people, find CR, ???, profit
Palamedes Sextus, Room 105
--> The Library. A pretty common place for him to camp out, sometimes for a full day or more. He has even been known to fall asleep there. Sometimes, when he stressed or working through something complex, he starts to put the books on the bookshelves in Dewy Decimal order.
--> Sand Dollars. He enjoys the cookies and the weird coffee drinks. Is definitely That Guy in the coffee shop who spreads out his stuff over the biggest table and works for hours.
--> the Atrium. Also known to camp out here sometimes because he thinks the chairs are cozy.
--> the Infirmary. Pal doesn't spend hours on end here, but he usually has a couple of experiments set up in test tubes and petri dishes. He has been quietly trying to figure out if "dying" aboard leaves any physiological traces, and while he hasn't discovered anything, he hasn't given up yet. Any samples he leaves out are labeled P. Sextus, Room 105. DO NOT TOUCH.
Other random things:
--> Pal's schedule varies pretty wildly, as he can often hyper-fixate on a project and forget to eat or drink. He takes his meals when he remembers, or when someone reminds him, usually at the buffet, since it allows him to graze and drink tea at all hours.
--> Pal is friendly and usually happy to share what he's working on, but isn't big on smalltalk. With close CR particularly, he is very happy to just sit with someone quietly without chatting at all.
--> He texts his CR random stuff he learns on the regular. Some of this is useful and metaplot related, but sometimes it's just like, 'Dear friend, Did you know that most of the ship's light fixtures use about 15 watts of electricity? PS.'
--> Pal and Clarke made out during the diner excursion and while they refuse to define what is going on with them, people will probably notice them getting more cozy/touchy-feely with each other than previously.
--> He almost always has a pencil, a small measuring tape, a pocket magnifying glass, a bone shard, a handkerchief, and a pocket knife on his person. He will let people borrow these things if they need them, just ask nicely and give them back.
--> Probably other things I can't think of right now??

if skulduggery comes into the library two days in a row and sees pal in the same place BOTH TIMES he's definitely going to do a cursory "go eat something" nerd check. (in kind and gentle terms obviously he loves your dedication man but go eat an apple! take a nap!)

Nerd checks are important! I love this. Pal needs a whole army of people to get him to eat and sleep properly, I swear to god.

Eeeexcellent. Whether or not it comes up in their current thread, please feel free to assume they have talked about the experiments a bit! Also, this is making me think I should really do a 'hanging out in the infirmary poking at test tubes' open post for Pal one of these days.

I'll be sure to poke an open post for science if you do!
