Handwaved CR Meme

The passengers have been living on this ship for a while now, and it's likely that they've fallen into certain habits and routines. Little things have become part of their day, from lunch dates with friends, to quiet nights in the library, or long-standing blood feuds. Even the newest passengers have likely found themselves some common haunts and familiar faces. This is a meme to talk about, flesh out, and collaborate on some of those behind-the-scenes moments and routines!

1. Post a comment with your character, and give us an idea of what sort of things they get up to around the ship! Be as detailed or as vague as you'd like.
2. Talk about what kind of handwaved CR you can inspire! Is your character the type to stop and chat with friends on the promenade? Are they consistently the highest score on multiple arcade cabinets? IDK, you tell me!
3. When you look at other characters' routines, you might notice some moments that line up! Even if your characters are total strangers, they might see each other at the buffet every day, or maybe they're unwittingly competing for the high score on DDR. And close CR might mean weekly dinners, book clubs, sparring sessions every morning... like I said, this is where you shine!!
4. This is also a good chance to handwave characters exchanging contact information, generating some more inbox threads!

TLDR: write about your character's life on the ship and then compare notes with other people, find CR, ???, profit

Ava Starr, Room 114

-ava pointedly tries to avoid having too obvious of a schedule because idk paranoia, but the one place she'll always be is dinner at the buffet with fio at 6pm. it's probably obvious to observers that she's rather close to fio, so anyone knowing about that relationship is fine by me! and if anyone would be inclined to come say hi during dinner is welcome to do so :)

-she spends a lot of her time lurking around the ship invisible and slipping through walls without much care about what's on the other side of them. so there's definitely potential she's seen characters in embarrassing situations or up to things they didn't think were being observed. she's not an outright creeper, she'd quickly leave if it's a sexy thing. but i'm totally open to things she might have caught others doing that might come up in other threads! optional whether they're aware or not she was lurking.

-and if it's characters she hasn't met or doesn't know all that well, and they try to give her a friendly hi in the hallway or ask questions, ava's likely to up and disappear. i want to play with her tendency to be a lil weirdo but those threads would be like 2 tags long. but there's definitely a lot of new characters she hasn't interacted with so it'd be nice to establish they've at least seen each other around and they're open to confront her about later.

-ava sure loves the library and coffee shop, but she tends to visit them at later hours. she's been falling asleep in the library more often. and tends to sit in the same seats in the back corner of both locations. but that's such a cliche loner place to sit, maybe it's been taken by other characters and she just glowers at them the entire time.

-she doesn't like giving out her phone number or her room number and sucks at texting, but if anyone really wants to attempt contact information from her...

-some nights she drags out her lil row boat from camp and floats along in the pool. this might be annoying to swimmers, sorry.

There are nights when Natsuno goes to watch his (ever-increasing) campy movies on the pool screen. He nods at Ava in her row boat, sets up the movie and camps in a chair without looking at her again...

...but occasionally popcorn is floating her way, and if she wants to watch a specific movie/replay the current one, he wordlessly obliges.

aw yes i love that, makes it hard to sulk as much with campy movies playing. she'll probably give him her copy of rogers the musical sometime as a joke. because more people have to suffer it.

If she's invisibly lurking places, Ava's probably caught Giles transforming into a cat on occasion. He generally tries to keep that he can do that on the down-low and transforms only when he's pretty certain no-one is looking

They probably don't talk a lot, bit given Ava and Pal are both coffee shop and library lurkers, they probably see each other regularly! Pal would not politely to her, but generally leave her alone. Also, all of his books and weird science-y notes won't help diminish her assumption that he's a mad scientist in the making.

(assumedly hamu is okay with it) you KNOW skulduggery's started making random appearances at dinner with fio since ava mentioned it. (i think that was post-diner/pre-heist) guaranteed he'll join any time either of them ask as well

guess who she might wake up to in the library sometimes??? that's right, this guy, just reading his books like his jacket isn't tucked up over her shoulders

they already have tons of cr so these are just kinda fluffy bits haha

Yesss he's definitely more than welcome to hang out for dinner!! But special occasions will be in the formal dining room because fio wants to show off her pretty dresses ok gotta make her feel fancy. Except obviously not this month.

And aww when she stirs awake she might ask about what he's reading.

She is welcome to spy on "the twins" and catch them at their gayest, or ignore Steven in the library, or mistake them when Marc's in the library and Steven's in the gym as they try to do things the other likes :3

Hah she definitely has her suspicions about them being A BIT CLOSE. And yeah probably awkwardly approached steven thinking he's marc and god she's trying extra hard not to bully him ok. Need to work on that!!!

But yeah when theyre in the library at the same time she might glare from over her book a lil but this last month she's been a bit too down

Clearly not-bullying has to happen to be believed 😤 He'll approach with extreme caution when he notices she's feeling down and try to cheer her up for sure!

Safe to assume Number 6 always says hi if he sees her in the dining hall for dinner, or other places too. I think after their most recent conversation, he's going to be making a point of keeping closer tabs on her.

Also, if she's ever phased through his cabin with him in it she's probably seen him pacing like a caged animal way too many times.

aw yes she certainly won't mind him checking in. she might poke her head through the wall to give him a lil wave sometimes.

and if she catches him pacing, she might stop and watch for a bit and wait for him to notice her haha.

He's going to chide her gently about how it's very rude to stick your face into a man's cabin while he's pacing. Let him have his existential crisis in solitude (No, don't. he needs the company too.)

I assume Maeve and Ava will continue their lessons for the katanas. She's really just going to try to see how quick Ava picks it up and encourage her. I'm sure she sometimes walks around and says hello if she feels a prickle of anything or any sound or whatever. Just "Hello, darling. Hope you're doing well." whether or not she's there. Just in case she is. She probably pops up at the coffee shop sometimes and peeks in on her from time to time when she's got her boat in the pool.

Klaus just sometimes be like, "AVA! ARE YOU THERE?" to the nothing. Or will say things like, "Wet dream" to see if Ava sputters and reveals herself. Like sorry to anyone that might walk by when he's doing this or whatever. He is def. dragging her to more karaoke, tho.

yes! a couple times a week seems like a good sort of schedule. and aw yes i love the idea of both of them kinda trying to call her out of the shadows if they think she's lurking. she'll probably give a little tap on the shoulder in confirmation or a quick 'agh shut up' in return to klaus. aaaah definitely more karaoke needs to happen. she enjoys it way more than she wants to admit so it's fun to blame klaus for it.

Yes. That works for meeee. But yes. Maeve and Klaus just trying to get Ava to show up around them :) Klaus will probably laugh at that response, too. Tickled, tbh. But yes. MORE KARAOKE! COME HANG OUT!

We talked about it before, but just getting it out here too that Fio still pops by Ava's cabin at least once to twice a week to sleep over after a bad dream.

And I'd like to say she sends texts "Good morning! ☀️" to Ava (which she sends to Skulduggery too as I mentioned in my reply to Kelly in Fio's Handwaved CR thread!)

Can also say that Ava's probably seen Fio playing/talking to her dolls too while she's lurking! And maybe trying to sneakily eat a huge amount of cake like that's a sort of punishable crime or something....

aw yes sweet lil fio <3 she'll always be there for her and those bad dreams. try to tell her nice stories instead.

and it might take ava a lil bit to respond to morning texts since she's not much of a morning person, but she'll make up for it with lots of cute emojis in return

aw she might steal a bite of cake and then a kiss to fio's forehead or a poke to her nose, maybe invisible make the dolls play back lol
