That said, getting to the actual question, he thinks about a lot of shit while he's trying to sleep. A big one is the situation with Vecna and whether or not Max is okay. He also runs through like, his last conversations with Nancy and Robin and maybe what he would have done or said differently if he knew it was (presumably) the last time he'd ever see them. Since Eddie's appearance he thinks a lot about Dustin and how he's handling losing Eddie. Just lovely things like that!
When his brain isn't going hawkinshawkinshawkinshawkins, he tries to come up with scenarios on how they could escape or tries to draw comparisons between this situation and the situations he's been in before in case there's idk like some kind of similar details there that he could use to figure this shit out. He worries a lot about what's to come since it's been pretty bad, and he's heard it's also been worse, so he can't even begin to imagine what's ahead of them but boy does he try.
And, finally, ever since he spent three weeks in the Nothing that's become something he thinks about too because that's where they're all headed if they can't find a way to escape.
