Hmmmm...

He has very specific hobbies, but I don't think any of them are particularly unusual, despite him being the biggest weirdo? But it's still a fascinating thought because of how weird he is as a person in general and his relationship with that.

His biggest interest, his biggest talent, and what he's wrapped his whole life around is music. He's very into rock and roll but he appreciates a lot of music, and his band is a labor of love. The only thing he wants to do with his life really is play music with Min-Gi for the rest of their lives, touring and playing shows forever even if they never make it big in the end. He is so proud of the band, he will gush about it to everyone.

Ryan is most likely neurodivergent, particularly ADHD and it shows in a lot of small ways in his various habits and day to day life. However, he's also from the 80s and is very likely undiagnosed (and even unaware that this is a diagnosable thing up with him) so a lot of these traits got dismissed growing up as just "Ryan being Ryan". He...I hesitate to say he's proud of all of them, because he can get particularly down on himself about it sometimes, but I think in his best moments his attitude is generally "This is who I am, you can take it or leave it - and if you leave it? Screw you, I didn't need you anyway."

For the most part, Yato is very comfortable in his body. As primarily a combat-based god, he's fairly in tune with movements, his are fluid and well-executed and he's strong enough to face down most people he encounters. I'd be surprised if he ever gave any consideration to his height or level of attractiveness, since that kind of thing isn't really god-related.

One thing he doesn't like and something that his shinki notices but others don't, is that he sweats excessively. It doesn't matter how much he showers, they all complain. The real curse of that is that he has clammy hands which makes it awkward to touch other people.

That he could do without.

Valdis delights in being beautiful, so she does care about her appearance, but she does not need makeup or to spend a lot of time grooming due to her divine nature. She likes doing her hair and makeup, likes dressing well, and always makes sure she looks good in everything, even if it is from Tommy Bahamas.

If she is ever NOT put together that is a clear sign that something is wrong

At various points throughout Dedue’s life, he’s struggled with consistent nightmares and anxiety dreams. So he kind of dreads going to sleep and finds little tasks to justify staying up (usually “oh I can’t go to sleep until I know Dimitri is safe in his room,” because Dimitri also has chronic insomnia and does the same damn thing).

Typically, once Dedue is finally in his bed, he might do a tiny bit of sewing before sleep. Then he’ll ruminate over the events of the day and his various worries. As he drifts closer to sleep, he starts to allow himself to have some, hm, more steamy thoughts about Dimitri that he pushes to the back of his mind for most of the day. He feels bad about it though, but it does help him fall asleep.

This general pattern has been ongoing for maybe two years and did not change when he arrived on the ship.

Good question! If Ari were asked this, she'd say she's not materialistic. Of course it's more complicated than that. Her family were extremely rich and she grew up with everything she could want and that was just normal. She rejected that when she ran off to join the spacer military, and part of that rebellion was taking the attitude that material things don't matter, and that she can get by on very little. It was also practical - there's not much room on a starship and her cabin when she started her training was a glorified cupboard with a fold-up bed in it, so she didn't have room for much at all. She's still quite minimalist.

However, because of her background, she has absolutely no problem with other people owning vast amounts of extravagant things. She might call it wasteful, but there's no real moral judgement there. She also has an insistence on quality, in that she doesn't own much, but she'll only buy the very best, expensive things. The classic example is with her wardrobe - it'd be really easy to think she just doesn't care, she wears that uniform every day - but it's all very expensively tailored, quality fabrics, and she takes very good care of it (hear her grumbling in the laundry about how archaic and annoying Earth-style ironing is ;) ).

I think she's more sentimental about material things here, too, particularly anything she gets from home, whereas she wouldn't have cared that much before.

Valdis honestly doesn't think about much between waking and sleeping. She cannot dream because her soul is damaged, but she has to sleep because she doesn't have enough soul energy to stay awake all the time. If I had to choose something, she is probably considering her next moves on the vessel or thinking about her CR.

Valdis is very comfortable in both forms, even though the Hellhound form is still fairly 'new' to her. She is comfortable in her skin because she really has no reason not to be. She is beautiful by most modern, European/American standards and knows it. She is also not afraid to use it to her advantage. She's not so much prideful as she simply knows it to be true.

As a Hound she feels powerful, perhaps in a bad way as she can afford to be more reckless in that form. Thicker hide is a better defense than human skin.

Valdis is highly intelligent and likes to play games. She is primarily self taught, but does have several degrees. She was a lawyer and also a history professor, both which require decent, if not high, levels of education. She is both book smart and street smart. When you are immortal and technically don't need to sleep, you have a lot of time on your hands to learn everything you want to. She knows several languages and is extremely well travelled, able to be a chameleon and blend in wherever she needs to go.

Friendship is extremely important to her, and she's used to having other people around all the time, friends or otherwise, because workspaces on a starship tend to be quite busy - although with her promotion she got partial use of a private office and she likes that a lot. Ari's very sociable, but she's also slightly introverted: not in the shy sense, but in that she does need some time alone to recharge sometimes. She's private about her emotions, and not generally physically demonstrative, but a lot of that is cultural. She had three very good friends on her ship, and a wider circle of friendly acquaintances, and that's the way she likes it.

She wouldn't call meetings opportunities to make new friends, because friendship takes time for her. She likes to connect with people, make sure they have at least a few shared values. She's certainly friendly towards new people - perhaps too much, and she's trying to tone it down - but for her to consider someone a real friend, there has to be something meaningful. Otherwise she'd say 'associates' or 'drinking buddies' - still positive, but not quite as deep.

Horribly unfair to ask!

He does, in fact, have someone he loves, and while he says he loves her it's entirely possible and likely that he's not actually in love with her. It seems to be a baseline fact in the series that gods just don't work the same way as people do.

What drives him to Hiyori is primarily first of all that she wants him by her side. That's significantly huge for him, because it's not like he can name that many people that would apply to, if any. The smallest gestures of her kindness send the biggest waves in his life. She offers him support and she wishes things for him, not the other way around. She wants him to be the kind of god he wants to be. She wants him to succeed. She's always wanting good things for him, and to him that kind of loving unwavering support is something he so desperately craves.

But more than her concern for him, he feels driven to not just make all of her dreams come true, to ensure she has absolutely the best life she can - but he also feels a drive to improve himself. She told him he was her god of fortune and he definitely wants to be that for her. It's because of her he feels confident enough to try and break the chains that are tying him to his past, and all in service of having a peaceful future with her and Yukine, even if that seems like an impossible dream at the moment.

He's probably not a good choice for a romantic partner because he's kind of a disaster, but his ideal is definitely someone who actually cares about him as a person, and Hiyori really fits that.

Reading through smutty romance novels and over-analyzing every possible shipping dynamic (often with lil charts that he draws out) is probably his favorite way to kill time. He also used to pretend to love coding computers because he thought it would impress Sollux (it didn’t) and he was so bad at it that his computer is permanently fucked up as a result.

Instinctively, Karkat haaates wasting time. It makes him extremely anxious. He likes to make plans and schedules, and he likes when people ACTUALLY STICK TO THEM INSTEAD OF FLAKING OUT. He and Kanaya were both kinda the Mom Friend of the trolls, and his way of being Mom Friend was very “angry suburban housewife driving around in her SUV dropping off and picking up kids at various extracurriculars while they all bicker at each other”-core. (Steve might relate to this).

However, for about a year, he’s been living in a place somewhat similar to the Serena in that there’s nowhere to really go, they just have to kill time. And his own mental health has definitely taken a dip since he stopped feeling like he could be productive on anything.

So, starting with definitions! Ari would say that she stopped being a child at the age of thirteen - she was actually told this, lots of 'you aren't a child here, you're a trainee starship officer' etc. She became officially adult at about sixteen and a half, when she passed her lieutenants' examination. In-between is a sort of liminal space that she doesn't really have a label for - thirteen-year-old apprentice spacer Tayrey might have insisted she was an adult, but with hindsight? She doesn't think so. Either way, she would not want to go back to being a child. She likes having authority and real responsibility and being taken seriously by the people around her, and she finds it faintly horrifying that on Earth she wouldn't have been able to start her career until eighteen. Her cultural norms around age are completely different.

She'd describe her childhood as very fortunate, but very restrictive. Her adoptive father is one of the Directors of Cardalek, the corporation and colony world, and she grew up on the upper levels of Cardalek Tower. Young Citizen Arilanna very rarely got to leave that Tower, and that's part of what prompted her later rebellion. Her education was extremely competitive and pressurised, and this, along with the knowledge that she's genetically enhanced and so should be better than others, resulted in perfectionism and workaholic tendencies, even though she'll say that she joined the military to defy everyone's expectations. She was very precocious - the model child who would attend Company dinners with her father and ask clever questions - but by the age of eleven or twelve she was becoming very troubled and prone to believing conspiracy theories about the future of genetically engineered children. Too analytical with not enough data to draw accurate conclusions.

She matured very quickly when she left home. Going from protected Company daughter to trainee Tradeliner was a shock, even if it was exactly what she wanted and she expected it to be difficult. After some initial wobbles and unhappiness, she began to do very well at it, and considers the fact that she progressed very quickly to be proof of her maturity and trustworthiness. She still has her moments, though, and there's definitely an emotional immaturity about her sometimes, because she's used to repressing the difficult feelings and getting on with her work. Ari herself is unaware of this, though - to her mind she's just doing what everyone else does, or ought to do.

Chrissy is just as content being off by herself (while reading or studying or whatever) as she is being surrounded by people.

We don't really get a lot of backstory for her so I've been assuming she's friends with the other girls on the squad and/or the jerks on the basketball team by virtue of dating Jason, but isn't really close to any of them- aside from one of the girls I've been calling Gina and assuming is her closest friend. Her reputation as "most popular girl in school" isn't something she would have chosen for herself so much as something that her mother wanted for her, and she's in a tough position in canon in that she's a minor living with an overbearing parent with no option but to play along to avoid making waves.

She's shown to be kind to everyone regardless of their social standing (aside from that one scene in the restroom but that's another thing entirely) so I figure she views most encounters as opportunities to make new friends. Mostly she'd like to have friends that actually like her versus a group of people she's obligated to be around.
