Erin is almost always talking about other characters, especially if she thinks they might get along with you or have practical knowledge relevant to a problem she's been brought.
Friends
Erin is very warm and a little in awe of her friends, especially after The Price is Right. You might hear about...
- Johnny Summer, Erin's first friend aboard, hyped up as a listening ear, excellent bartender, gentleman, fashion expert, and keen eye on the community itself. Looking for Johnny? Erin'll happily say you can find him at Tauva through the day, or at the bars a-nights enjoying enrichment in his enclosure.
- Honoria Crabb ("Crabb"), Erin's girlfriend and yes she'll say that with an awed pride, beloved as a steady presence, keen detective, courageous friend, and excellent listener. Erin calls Crabb 'handsome' a lot and adores her crooked nose. You might get pointed at her on the sly because Erin thinks her girlfriend could use more friends.
- Cassandra de Rolo. Erin is very poorly trying to hide being through the moon over this lass, who she talks about as someone insightful, calm of mind, polite, curious, and safe. Sword fighters might get pointed at Cassandra for the novelty of being able to experience a style from another world, and other calm and courteous folks just in general.
- SecUnit, usually by reminding people that they can talk to its drones if they need to get a hold of it; a steady and thoughtful friend who can be a bit shy but has fascinating insights. If you're into films or painting SecUnit is the first name out of Erin's mouth. "Don't touch it, though, it doesn't like that any more than I do."
- Peter Smith. Speaking of art! If you're looking for a hobby, Peter also comes up as someone into art and specifically as someone willing to teach it. Erin thinks of him as a Proper Gentleman(tm), fondly warning that he can be a bit guarded but is insightful, compassionate, and very genuinely curious about other people. A good listener, and someone she'll direct teens specifically to - especially teens trying to grapple with having to grow up here, far from home. "Heard he just started dating Ava Starr."
- Ruby Rose. "She's so fun, you'll like her." Are you a nerd? An engineer? Are you into tinkering? Just try to stop Erin from suggesting you meet Ruby. Ruby also comes up if Erin invites you to tactics class, as one of the teachers there to counterbalance Erin's own ah, significantly no-nonsense teaching style.
- Bash St. Expedit; "he's gentle, ask him about coffee." Erin respects Bash's calm wisdom and reasoned compassion, and thinks highly of him as a host & friend. If you confess to troubles or confusion in love she might thoughtfully suggest him as someone to talk to ("It's been a hot minute since I was in a relationship myself").
- Undine Wells. Do you not know how the arcade works? Did you say the words 'what's boba tea'? Idly confess to thinking you might want to change your look, have a makeover, do you miss 'girl time' especially? Undine comes up. Erin actually withholds a lot about Undine, not talking much to other teens especially about her troubles as a child soldier. Adults might get more of Erin's worries.
- Ylva "the wolf". Erin is in denial about how bad she has it for Ylva; she describes both Ylva's humanoid form and her wolf one so people can know it's her either way, and says she's shy but very kind and fascinating to talk to. Erin calls Ylva a wolf and will be notably firm, then angry, if you try to call Ylva an elf or a human.
- Phil Connors, the very chill guy with the wings. Erin's worried about Phil but doesn't know what to do about it. She might be asking if you know what he likes or hobbies he might be into so she can get his mind off the horrors of Halloween.
- Darcy. Not a friend exactly but if you want to learn to fight, if you seem like you're nervous living on the ship, Darcy comes up as the leader of fight club and someone completely trustworthy and reliable. Surprise of all surprises if you show up to fight club and find Erin giving Darcy as much space as possible and not talking to her. Something happened there. Erin does mention that Darcy is part of a pirate crew newly led by Izzy Hands but admits she has exactly no details on what that entails.
- Ossie & Giles, most often spoken of as a pair, True Gentlemen(tm) who can be relied on for listening ears, advice on social situations like throwing parties or making amends, and gone to in case of trouble. Erin trusts them with her life and isn't shy about saying so.
- Dimitri, the polite young man whose 'r' sounds don't stop rolling. Erin's worried about him, too, and is a bit more open about it. Adults with experience in battle might be asked to check in on him; teenagers with similar experiences too. Erin thinks of Dimitri as someone wise and compassionate.
- Tendi. Literally any time you think you might need a doctor, Erin suggests Tendi, talking her up as someone bright and optimistic who can treat ills with a minimum of pain. Erin knows Tendi feels left out by the community and wants to give her the chance to do her job. Where's Tendi? She's in the infirmary most days, ready to work! You should go see her!
- Crichton; hilarious and warm. Erin freely admits she doesn't know Crichton very well yet but she's liked what she's met so far. People who don't like to be touched get a gentle warning to tell him that to his face.
- Vance Hopper. Adults might get pointed at Vance if Erin thinks they can teach him something related to his expressed goals of protecting others and defeating the Captain but who she picks and chooses here is pretty selective; steady presences, thinkers, and strategists are greatly preferred. If you admit that your magic can be taught she might ask if you're willing to try him out as a student.
- Helena Adams, "my new roommate!". Usually described as courteous & prim, Erin talks Helena up as a student of literature and poetry and says she's very comfortable to be around. There's a protective concern here. Erin doesn't see Helena as a fighter and given that their roommates she takes her safety very seriously. Warriors and heavies might be gently asked to keep an eye on her when she's around.
- Lieutenant Tayrey. Are you looking into the nature of the ship? Tayrey comes up so you can coordinate research; Erin describes her as someone friendly but says she has a deep attachment to forms of manners from back home that can make her prickly. If something seems too weird to just politely go with, try stating, without judgement, what you heard the gesture as and see if you can move from there.
Annoyances
- Nobunaga. Sadly the only person to make this part of the list thus far. Erin doesn't go on tears about the guy but even after the expedition he's not the first person she's picking to be on her team for anything. If you bring up that you're going to start associating with him Erin warns you to draw your boundaries very clearly; if he steps over them, she's happy to break her foot off in his ass. Yes she's still mad about the incident more than a month ago why do you ask.
Is your character not listed here? I might have just forgotten, or Erin might think of you as private enough to not want people yeeted at you like a pillow. Feel free to ask/remind me!
