[Dammit, César, what the fuck is this? You aren't supposed to be talking about him with the context of deep caring at first sight, or how much Rich's presence makes you feel better, and especially not about how you're proud of him.

He's looking away because he's also definitely not crying either.]

I... I really just thought you were too nice of a person to let me go off and get messed up on my own before. I didn't think any of you really, um. Wanted me to be there. Thought I was interrupting some hardcore threesome time.

I can't believe you guys just... wanted me right off the bat, is all. You walk in on some weird gremlin kid eating all your cheese strings and dumping your alcohol down the toilet and just decide to adopt him? It's like... a way worse Lilo and Stitch.

[ César listens quietly until that last joke, which gets a loud snort that turns into proper laughter. He'll just keep his arm loose. Lean away; he'll say nothing ]
