[ Any bat is probably too big for him unless it's delicately pinned and mounted under a taxidermy pane for further scientific review. When the beast leaves he slumps down to the ground and sighs, not sure how he got out of that one. There was an uncanny sentience to the thing he notes in retrospect but mostly he's happy he only had to sacrifice his drink for his life.

...well, not terribly happy about that, actually. Though free it was delicious, say nothing for the hazard of falling glass below. He finds his legs again and wipes the sweat off his brow with a monogrammed handkerchief, then tucks it back into his pocket. Convinced he shouldn't linger lest it return or any other bats show up he starts to move with nervous haste and nearly runs into the woman, flinching to a halt. Oh that... black dress leaves little to the imagination, especially when wet. He ahems and regains his composure, polite enough to look her in the eye. He's about to apologize for the startle but she holds out glass.
]

That's... [ His glass? He takes it gingerly and tips it out (away from both of them) the patter of water punctuating the weirdness of this scene. ]

I um, well thank you? You must have had some incredible dexterity to catch it, and to avoid the terrifying bat monster that was just here... [ His voice pitches up, as if the more he goes on the more he's desperately trying to convince himself that this woman was empirically actually not said terrifying but dexterous and wet bat monster. ] just— just a moment ago.
