The statue is unfamiliar in any light, and she's summed it up in her head as disgustingly tacky, wondering who on earth would create such a thing. Why gold? Stone would be more tasteful, especially indoors, and the man's expression makes her want to gag. But someone is coming, her reflexes know, and Fever turns her way right before the young woman speaks.

Whatever that odd scroll is, it's engrossing her enough that she's forgotten where she is, or something. Good books do that, but then, she usually just stops and reads where she is, standing.
