By the time Perihelion thinks to consider this thing an antagonistic artillery ship rather than 'fauna', in terms of the relative danger it poses, it would already have been ... engulfed? Shredded? Whatever a Bahamanal does to its prey. Luckily, a human(? given its own circumstances, Perihelion can't assume) intervenes.

Unluckily, Perihelion hasn't mastered the whole 'operating an organic body' thing. Its attempt to retreat is mostly stumbling, especially since it's still more interested in the creature than escaping.
