A very growly man seems to have spotted her approaching the mirror even before she had a chance to touch it, because he's there in a flash, grabbing her other arm and pulling her back, while brandishing a sword at the mirror.
He might be slightly reminiscent of Vlad the Impaler - at least with the long hair and mustache, pale face and silly hat. Though in this case, the hat is very obviously a pirate captain's hat.
