"Huh?" he asks, looking up at her. "Oh, yeah, I just think I might be.. a bit too okay, you know?" He gives a shrug and then gestures a bit with his stumped wrist. "This thing kinda happened, like, a few hours ago."

...But also yes, he definitely has not fully processed what has happened to him. And he probably won't, for like a while. Especially if he keeps pretending this is a dream. (The longer it goes on, the less likely it seems.)
